Yanchep Vs Alkimos: Which Northern Coastal Suburb is Right for You

Life’s better at the beach

How lucky we are to live on a stretch of the magnificent Indian Ocean.

Western Australia’s coastline extends for nearly 13,000km offering pristine sands, pure breezes, dancing waves and days filled with laughter and fun. It’s no wonder that more and more people are seeking to live in the premium Northern suburbs with this incredible natural wonder on their doorstep.

Yanchep and Alkimos are two suburbs in high demand within this northern coastal corridor. Both offer flourishing communities, residential estates with new land releases and house and land packages, established and growing infrastructure, special lifestyle appeal and very bright futures. But which one to choose?

Alkimos, named after the shipwreck of a Greek freighter which ran aground in 1963, is in the City of Wanneroo and was established in the late 2000s.

It is therefore more established than Yanchep and is anticipated to be home to 10,000 families by 2040. This is testament to its appeal, especially for those seeking affordable land, and house and land options with surrounding amenities and an embedded community culture.

Being that bit older, it has the beginnings of an ingrained suburban feel, which attracts more traditional families wanting a laid back lifestyle, and first home buyers wanting the reassurance of familiarity.

Infrastructure, amenities and services are in place and are expanding as the region progresses and develops.

Yanchep was initially a small crayfish settlement and over the years it has created nostalgic memories for West Australian families who stayed in beach cabins during school holidays.

Home to the Yanchep National Park and Yanchep Lagoon, this emerging suburb is continuing to draw families seeking new land releases in order to enjoy an active lifestyle, dynamic community, and a place to belong and grow.

Substantial amenities and infrastructure are in place, including a new train and bus station, but there is significantly more planned. At the heart of this is an anticipated new Yanchep town centre which will provide integrated retail, commercial, education, medical and recreation destinations, evolving to become an employment hub, and major community flagship.

In keeping with that, many view Yanchep as a ‘rising star’, an established suburb with incredible connectivity and promise. First home buyers, investors, and progressive families are recognising that now is the time to buy in at an affordable price.

This is a future they want to be part of – an exciting and dynamic combination of contemporary urban convenience - on a spectacular coastline, with pockets of parklands and social spaces, in harmony with protected natural reserves. Truly the best of both, and all, worlds.

At Parcel Property the choice is clear. We love Alkimos and all it contributes to the region, but Yanchep is where it’s really happening!

Parcel Property’s Indi estate embodies this vibrant future and is situated to take full advantage of it. Live bold!
